Mulberry plant

Steam the stems then scrape off the outer layer

Peel the bark off

cook in alkali (Caustic soda or soda ash)

Wash well

Beat with a wooden mallet to piece of dowel

Ready to make paper

Straight mulberry paper and double couch mulberry and mixed cotton and fibre paper
